How does the Prenatal Paternity testing works?
Researchers have long known that fetal DNA exists in maternal blood during pregnancy. Our prenatal paternity test employs Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology to analyze 2,688 genetic markers, known as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), to determine the fetus’s paternity with 99.9% accuracy.
This DNA test involves a sample of maternal blood (taken using a conventional medical blood sample) and a mouth swab from the suspected father. Scientists require the maternal sample to separate the blood plasma (a blood component that contains maternal and cell-free fetal DNA) from the rest of the blood. The fetal DNA is isolated from the plasma and tested with DNA samples from the mother and suspected father. In the lab, scientists utilize an informatics algorithm to calculate the genetic similarity between the fetus DNA and the purported father’s DNA. If the chance of the purported father having the genetic markers necessary of the biological father exceeds 99.9%, The result is paternity inclusion. If the similarity falls within the range of non-fathers, paternity will be excluded.
This DNA test can be performed as early as the ninth week of your pregnancy (7 weeks after conception)!
The Test Results
Corporate DNA prenatal test is one of the most accurate non-invasive paternity tests in the world! Standard results are provided in 5 to 7 working days, with an express testing option for those who require results in 3 to 4 working days. Please keep in mind that turnaround time begins as soon as samples arrive at the laboratory. The findings will reveal one of these two outcomes:
- The putative father cannot be dismissed as the biological father, implying that the tested man is the biological father, which will be proven with a 99.9% likelihood.
- The supposed father is excluded as the biological father of the unborn baby. This means that the tested man is not the biological father, which will be excluded with a 100% likelihood.
